G.V() 3.38.90 Release Notes: FalkorDB support, improved graph styles

Introduction
G.V() 3.38.90 is out now! This newest version includes a number of exciting updates – most notably we have added full FalkorDB support. We’ve also added several new quality-of-life features and fixes, including an improved stylesheet interface that makes customizing your graph visualization easier than ever!
FalkorDB Support
The main feature of this release is added support for FalkorDB, a Large Language Model (LLM) oriented database which uses the openCypher variant of the Cypher querying language.
With a focus on powering GenAI, FalkorDB is ideal for a range of use cases from agentic AI applications to advanced chatbots. Speed matters, and FalkorDB is one of the fastest graph databases around, with ultra-low memory usage to boot.
Speaking of speed, it’s as quick and easy as ever to connect your FalkorDB instance to G.V():
Improved Graph Styles Experience
Here at G.V(), we’re focused on providing the best possible experience for our users, and with so many customizable features in our application it can be hard to know about them all. Sometimes a subtle nudge is needed. That’s why we’ve added a prompt to use our Graph Stylesheets, drawing attention towards how the graph display can be made to provide a great deal more meaning with some minor configuration changes.
Now, after running a query and seeing the graph display for the first time on a given database/instance, the Graph Stylesheet sidebar will open and prompt the user to select a caption for each vertex label from its properties. The idea is that node properties will often convey more meaningful information than just the label name itself. As before, this can be configured for edges as well.
Everything Else
As always, this new release of G.V() comes with a few additional minor improvements and bug fixes along with the major changes.
We are continuing to post regular G.V() news, updates and previews on LinkedIn | Bluesky | X. An especially exciting new feature is our new regular blog ‘The Weekly Edge’. We started releasing issues of the Weekly Edge in July and are thrilled with the growing reception we’ve been receiving, so if you want to keep up with what’s happening in the world of graph databases every Friday, along with everything else, be sure to give us a follow!
