G.V() 3.40.94 Release Notes: Ultipa Graph support, Embedded Cypher Documentation

Today marks the release of G.V() 3.40.94. Some significant additions this time around – we now support ISO GQL (Graph Query Language), starting with Ultipa Graph Database!
We’ve also extended our embedded documentation feature, previously only available for the Gremlin query language, to work with Cypher and its many database-specific variants.
And finally, we’ve introduced further user experience improvements, most notably to the settings menu.
Ultipa Graph Database Support
We are thrilled to announce Ultipa Graph as the latest member to join the ever growing family of databases supported by G.V(). What makes this announcement even more special is the fact that Ultipa is the first database in G.V() to support the ISO-standardized GQL.
Boasting ultra-high computing speeds, Ultipa provides incredibly deep and fast search capabilities. Their analytical graph algorithms run using High Density Computing Technology (HDC), meaning they’re well optimized for large, complex datasets. Ultipa also supports deployment of Hybrid Transactional & Analytical Processing (HTAP) capabilities.
Check out our full announcement to find out more about this integration.
Embedded Documentation for Cypher Databases
We’re very pleased to have added embedded Cypher query language documentation to several databases we support.
This is another step towards improving the graph database developer experience, especially benefiting those who are less familiar with the Cypher language without the need to interrupt their workflow by having to regularly visit external resources.
As language-specific keywords such as MATCH or RETURN are highlighted or suggested inside the G.V() query editor, their provider-specific documentation will be shown in the query assistant to the side.
Gremlin users will be well used to this handy little feature, and we thought it would be useful to branch out and add it for some of our supported Cypher databases as well, with support for even more languages and variants planned for future releases.
Embedded documentation has been added for the following databases:
- Amazon Neptune
- Neptune Analytics
- FalkorDB
- Kuzu
- Memgraph
- Neo4j
- AuraDB
- PuppyGraph
Updated Settings Menu
With all the new features that we’re regularly adding to G.V(), sometimes existing aspects can become a little forgotten about, or deprecated. That’s why we’ve spent some time sprucing up the look and feel of our application wherever we feel it can be improved upon. This time, the settings menu has been given a bit of an overhaul.
Everything is now organised into related groups as opposed to being in one long list, giving it a tidier look and making it much easier to find what you’re looking for.

In closing
Almost every new release of G.V() these days comes with support for another graph database. This is a trend that will persist for our product in the coming months, with RDF support set to finally land on G.V() at the end of October. What’s more, we’ve been growing the team, with big plans on the horizon – but more on that in a future announcement!
